What should I bring when I recycle scrap at AAA?
Bring your scrap materials and a valid government-issued photo ID. If you’re unsure whether we accept something, contact your AAA Recycling location before you load up and make the trip.
Do I need to separate my scrap before I arrive?
Yes. Separate different types of metal before bringing them to AAA. Keeping materials separated helps us identify and weigh them properly and can make your visit faster and easier.
Can I get help unloading my scrap?
Yes. Our team can assist with unloading your scrap when you arrive. The unloading process will depend on the type and amount of material you bring.
Is there a minimum amount of scrap required for recycling?
Whether you have a small amount of scrap or a larger load, contact your AAA Recycling location if you have questions about bringing it in.
Do you provide pricing information over the phone?

What happens when I arrive with my scrap?

What types of scrap metal do you buy?
AAA Recycling buys both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including iron, steel, tin, stainless steel, copper, brass, aluminum, lead, insulated wire, sheet metal, appliances, electronics/e-scrap, electric motors, radiators, water heaters, nickel alloys, and metal construction and agricultural scrap.
Do you accept appliances and electronics?
Yes. AAA Recycling accepts metal appliances and some electronics. If you’re unsure about a specific item, contact your AAA Recycling location before bringing it in.
Do you accept lithium batteries?
No. AAA Recycling does not accept lithium batteries.
How much are you paying for scrap?
Scrap prices change with the market and vary by material. Contact your AAA Recycling location for current pricing on the material you have.
How is my scrap priced?
Payment is based on the type and weight of the material and current material pricing. Different metals have different values.
What materials do you NOT accept?
AAA Recycling does not accept lithium batteries, cardboard, paper, trash, asphalt or concrete debris, free-flowing liquids, chemicals or poisons, flammable or combustible materials, corrosive materials, radioactive materials, explosive materials, pressurized containers, PCB-containing materials, or mercury-containing materials.

Vehicle Acceptance at AAA Recycling
Does AAA Recycling buy cars?
It depends on the location. Texarkana accepts complete vehicles, while Lewisville does not. Please contact your local AAA Recycling center for more details.
What if my vehicle is incomplete or stripped?
Texarkana accepts incomplete or stripped vehicles. Acceptance at Lewisville may depend on the condition of the vehicle, so please contact the Lewisville location before bringing one in.
Do you accept vehicle parts?
Yes, AAA Recycling accepts many vehicle parts, but acceptance can vary by location. Lewisville does not accept catalytic converters. If you have a specific vehicle part, contact your AAA Recycling location before bringing it in.
How should I prepare my vehicle for recycling?
